Artist Statement
My name is David Real and I photograph moments as I encounter them—unplanned, unforced, and often fleeting.
My work is guided by presence rather than pursuit. I’m not searching for spectacle or perfection, but for the quiet alignment of light, form, and feeling that happens when you’re paying attention.
Whether the subject is a landscape, a structure, or a person, I’m drawn to scenes that feel honest—moments that don’t ask to be interpreted, only noticed.
Photography, for me, is a way of slowing down. It’s an invitation to pause, to look longer, and to let a space or moment speak without explanation.
I don’t create with a specific audience in mind. If someone connects with an image—if it resonates, calms, or stays with them—that connection is enough.
